AALA 2026 – Songkran at Miss Chow’s on the Terrace

September 11, 2026

In April 2026, the LT Team was delighted to celebrate Songkran – Thai New Year with friends and colleagues from the legal profession at the Asian Australian Lawyers Association’s Songkran celebration at Miss Chow’s on the Terrace.

The entire LT Team got involved in making the event a success, bringing plenty of energy, laughter and good-natured fun to the celebrations.

A highlight of the evening was the traditional Songkran water festivities — and the LT Team certainly didn’t hold back! Beyond the fun of the water fight, water holds an important meaning during Songkran, symbolising cleansing, renewal and the washing away of the old to welcome a fresh start for the year ahead.

For Mintie, Songkran is particularly special. It is an opportunity to share and celebrate her Thai heritage while promoting the cultural diversity that enriches the legal profession.

At LT, we believe diversity is something to be celebrated. Events like Songkran bring people together, strengthen connections across the profession and give us the opportunity to learn about each other’s cultures — while having plenty of fun along the way.
